    Reel for punching

And recommendations in the Shimano lineup? 65lbs braid, 1 -1.5 oz weight. It will be a dedicated reel for this setup. I was thinking their heavyset reel to counter balance the long rod and weight.

Shimano Scorpion Qiuckfire just about the best punching reel I have used. It has the flipping trigger to engage instantly

You will need to go to EBay. The reel is discontinued

Also prefer the burgundy color over the white version

Tranx200 or Bantam but for maximum torque (power) 6:1 gear ratio

Older, rose-colored Shimano Castaic (basically US version of the Scorpion Quickfire). Best pitching reel ever made. Wish only that it was a bit smaller. I have had as many as 10 of them at times. Used to buy them up off of EBay then change out bearings and drag washers.

I think you can you GM10 as a discount code.
Budget isn’t a factor. I want a premium reel and was thinking a heavier reel would feel better on a longer rod to counter the weight.

I do like a heavier by todays standards reel for flipping and punching. Most of the things we think of when we say we want a high performance reel do not matter with these techniques. A heavy drag and durability is what you want.
