I saw this at Grand Lake what is it?

I was a marshall at the classic and this was in a back of a cove. It was a pump that spun a barrel? Never seen one before what is it?

It looks like a pond aerator like used in catfish ponds. Not sure why a lake would need one.

That is what I thought as well. It was in the back of a pocket in a rather large cove.

I'm very familiar with grand. That looks like it's the cove with all the docks. I know exactly where that is.

The use those on the irrigation intakes here. It keeps them from getting clogged.

Makes sense, I have seen one in a cove on Old Hickory Lake here in TN. It comes on every once and a while spewing water, pretty good place to catch a fish or two.

Its probably some sort of backwash set up for the screen so it doesnt get totally clogged.

I’ve seen one on a river in Texas that spouts water about 10 ft every now and then. It has something to do with releasing back pressure in the water lines.
