    Mayo Lake

I'm out of Roanoke and looking at possibly going to Mayo Lake, just south of the VA/NC border, in August. What can anyone tell me about this lake, good bad, or otherwise? What ramp would be good to use, and where would be a good place to stay that is fisherman friendly, with electrical hookups?

Mayo is a decent lake, very clear all year long. Fishing in the spring can be real good but tougher in the summer. Only one boat ramp on the lake off of Neals Store Rd. Not sure about places to stay but plenty rental places on the lake. Mayo Park has cabins for rent. Better check with wildlife if planning a tournament, they have changed their rules on them this year.
