I asked this on lowrance page without much interest...

Bought a couple of used carbons on here and once installed everything works fine except with structure scan, when in 800 MHz, it cuts out on one side or the other from time to time...when in 455 I think it seems to work fine...has anyone had this issue before? Remedies? Just use till it quits? Go ahead and buy a new one? Reckon newest update will correct...? Not sure what the current software is on it but I'm sure it needs updating.... TIA for any info...

    Running active 3n1 ducer..

It's actually the total scan transducer...after confirming..

You have the 3n1 plugged into the black transducer port on the carbon? Does it show the correct transducer in the sonar setup screen? It should show 3n1 and be greyed out where you can’t change it, it’s auto sensing.

I'll have to check this next time I'm out in the shop to be 100% sure but I think I did look at it when I installed everything...don't want to lie about it..

Doesn't give me a chance to select transducer so it must do it automatically....
Nvm, just found a backwards way of going to it...have to go back out there and checking again...

This for sure! I changed several thru the years....seems this is common amongst lowerance. Maybe Im Wrong but..seems I don't here of it as much with other brands
One reason I'm slowly moving another direction. Sad...I been a true lowerance guy for many yrs.(back to the 65's) but for me ...it's time.

I’d swap to a 3-1 AI anyway. You’ll like the images a lot better.

Seeing as that is not what I'm running, that is the plan after updates obviously... Problem now is that I've got 100 mini sd cards in my house and garage... But at the moment I can't find not one single card to use for the update...

If your receiving an error message stating not enough memory on your SD card you may have to reformat the SD card.

Glad to see I’m not the only one with that problem, lol. Don’t forget it can’t be bigger than a 32 or the hds units won’t recognize it.

Not necessarily true… I’m running 128GB cards in mine, but they have to be formatted as FAT32
