Garmin Customer Service for the W

It's been forever since I've ordered or updated my Navionics card, so I ordered a new one last week during a sale. Free shipping just so happened to be through USPS and tracking shows that it was delivered to my mailbox on Monday, but it wasn't. I gave it a couple of extra days because, well USPS, and no joy. This morning I called Garmin customer service, was on hold for around fifteen minutes, and to be honest I do not even think I was talking to the right department when a fella answered. But the guy was glad to help and pulled up my order. Within a couple of minutes he had created a new order and told me that they would be covering overnight shipping for me (UPS). Great, great service.
Ten minutes later my cell phone is ringing and it is Garmin Intl calling. I answer and same guy says he sees on my account that I have a 126sv registered and wanted to make sure that the map card I was ordering was not for that unit because it would not work. I told him that it was in fact for my Lowrance unit, but wow, talk about going above and beyond.... Outstanding customer service imho! Anyway, just wanted to pass along a positive CS story as it seems they have become pretty rare these days.

That is top notch. Did you get his name? That kind of follow thru deserves a praise email to corporate.

Unfortunately I did not, as I was multitasking at the office during the experience. Hopefully they send an email inquiring about the service and I will definitely respond.

I will say garmin has great service. I posted on here a couple years ago about a problem I was having with my livescope transducer and garmin reached out to me and took care of it and gave me a new transducer before I even mailed my old one back to them!

I agree that they are good but they definitely have room for improvement.
