When watching Bassmaster Live or the Bass Pro Tour, it seems that common talk suggests that most of the pros keep their trolling motor at 100 while scoping. That seems wild to me. So, what is your average speed while scoping?

Just get a Sniper pole and use the big motor until you find them and then jump up front on the trolling motor.

I go about 1.4-1.6 mph typically. Sometimes 2+ mph but not that often. Running Livescope at 135-150' range usually.
I like to sit at the console with the Ultrex down & targetlock set to sweep mode while running the big motor.

I go like half speed on my force when scanning / panning. Makes sense that guys that are on the water way more can run faster though. Also why so many more are using butt seats again.

I read comments and hear people talking about fishing with the TM on 100. I only have a 82 lb thrust TM and if I do anything other than go in a straight line on 100 I will be thrown out of the boat. There's zero chance I could maneuver around and fish on 100.
If professionals who's careers depend on catching fish use FFS then that's what I'm using. Might be too simple of a philosophy but makes sense to me.
