    Question Quick change snaps/ clips?

What do you use primarily for crankbaits, jerkbaits, spooks, etc.? Brand, style and size? Thanks

I have gotten where I use them on cranks, jerkbaits, topwater and chatterbaits. I use the VMC duolock size 2.

I used to run the Owner Hyper weld snaps but I had problems with them breaking, straightening, and just not holding up.

I run these now and they have been fantastic so far.

I use these exclusively and have for about four years now with no sort of related failure. I use #1 for bigger stuff and #2 for smaller square bills and jerkbaits.

I used to always use snaps on CB’s, but quit several years ago because I fet like it adversely affected the action of the bait. Now, it’s just tied straight to the line.

Norman Speed Clips. By far the most weedless and versatile clips I’ve found and I’ve used a number of others. They last for years, and the design makes them easy to open change lures. I connect directly to the split ring on most small/medium cranks and squarebills. I remove the split ring on large cranks and use the Magnum clip. I even use the Magnums with my frog setup. Makes it easy to switch them out until I find what the fish want, and it keeps the nose down better on popping frogs.

I use the Decoy egg snaps. Have been happy with them , and haven't had an issue with them bending out after swapping baits out or anything. I think Decoy in general makes some good stuff .

I like these Tactical Angler clips primarily because they don't have any protrusions to snag grass or vegetation, don't have to be opened or shut and they are extremely strong.

I must be uncoordinated, because i can tie a knot faster than I change out these clips. I feel like I’m half way tearing them up trying to open them.

You should always use a split ring, snap, or loop knot. You will never get all the action out of a crankbait tying directly.

I used speed clips for 20+ years and had two failures. Now I use Mustad Fastach clips, I like them so far.
