One year ago today I was feeling awful after dinner, getting dizzy spells, and had no energy. That day we were in Florida and I decided I was going to the doc when I got home. I had been using the Army’s Wellness Center for classes on diet, exercise, and using their “Bod Pod” and metabolic testing to make a plan. After dinner that night I went to the CVS and bought everything I needed to start testing my sugar. The year prior they told me I was “pre diabetic” but after my arm surgery I really did not care. I had been going to the gym and that’s it. After seeing my blood sugar well over 200 that night I KNEW I needed to see the doc. The next week I was getting blood drawn at my local doc here in TN. He put me on diabetic meds and basically told me if it’s white or taste good don’t eat it LOL. I use “Lose It” to keep up with calories.
The Wellness center started me out at 2800 calories a day and told me to eat em all. They measured body fat and made sure I wasn’t losing muscle with the “Bod Pod”. Today, I’m down to 2200 calories a day a year later, 56 pounds are gone, blood sugar well controlled, and best of all feel like I gained 20 years.
The health news is fantastic, and I hope you guys trying to be healthy are doing well!
Sadly the family condo in Florida closed today. A nice couple bought it for their 19 year old son…even put it in his name. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted and I learned I sucked at surf fishing.
