Trojan 31XHS. I normally get 6 years out of them and never had any issues running out of power. They are not rated for cranking but Trojans support told me they are in excess of 800CCA at 32 degrees. I tested them and they are closer to 1000. I replaced my trolling motor batteries at the end of last year with Lithium and tested them and they still load test good with very minimal drop so they are now on my solar line. To me for a 5 year old battery that is impressive. But just be aware they weigh 67lbs a piece. Look at the 2 batteries Mike highlighted and you will see where weight makes a difference. The Napa battery is made by East Penn or Clarios and I would go with the East Penn one and it is a very good budget option. CJ

Deep cycle batts make a great cranking battery "If it meets or beats the min requirements for the engine" and has plenty of "RC"
Deep cycles can crank, Cranking batts cannot deep cycle.

I had an X2 31 series and it was flawless. I actually still have it just in case as a spare. I went to all Impulse Lithium batteries. I run the 120AH and it has been flawless over 100 hours of use on my Yamaha 250 SHO.
I have been using deep cycle batteries my cranking battery for years.
NAPA part #7234 or 7235, according to which posts you are using. It is a beast and leaves you heavier in the wallet after the purchase.

Yes the 120AH Impulse Lithium is being charged by the SHO. And yes I know what Yamaha says. It has been flawless going on season 2.

Yamaha is very very conservative. Took them years to "approve" AGM and Gel batteries.
Been running a 12a Ionic for two and a half years on on my SHO250. Had an X2 but it couldn't hang with all my electronic and almost left me stranded a time or tow.
