graduated high school, BS, Masters, then 6 year specialist degree from college. As stated yes it mattered as I retired at 60 with a very nice pension and benefits.

I have a degree in music performance (classical piano) from Baylor and a degree in Laser Electro-optics.
I was a breadman from college grad till 2003. I left the bread business to go build cars at Gas Monkey Garage. Worked there for a while…now I build cars for a place really close to home.
never use my degrees….but I didn’t pay for them either. So no big loss.
like the line from Color of Money….if your the best at something…anything….rich can be arranged. Money will come easily. It has
I have a college degree and it did get me in some doors that someone with only a high school would not get in. When I was in high school a neighbor and I would paint houses in our spare time. Rick was a smart guy but had a learning disability that made school very difficult for him. When I went to college Rick continued to paint and eventually became a painting contractor. Rick, the guy who just barely made it through high school, retired ten years before me and spent several years touring around the country with his wife on their Harleys.
Sick, tired, hungry, broke, busted, disgusted, can't be trusted, been imposed on and won't fight
I graduated high school then dropped out of college after a month. I work in industrial maintenance and am a plumber by trade. My wife has her doctorate and has been a PT for 15 years. My yearly earnings and compensation package is 30% higher than hers and didn’t have six figures in student loan debt. I think a lot of guys said it already that the will to succeed is probably more important
Quit my senior year of high school and enlisted in the Army to get away from a bad environment. Did 20 years and during that time got a ged and 2 bachelors degrees. Definitely opened some doors.

I finally got a general HS diploma with the minimum number of credits. Went into the U S Air Force, believed my recruiter and became an aircraft electrician. Should have chosen I.T. instead. In the AE tech school I was top man in both classes, probably 60 people. I had no discipline and got busted for misbehavior, went to get photo for Honor Student, the photographer said I had my wrong (no stripes) uniform on. When they found out I was busted someone else got photo and glitz.
Did over 4 years in the A F and aced my 5 and 7 level tests and the A F College G E D. Worked aircraft for about 17 years then became a Government Q A rep buying airborne radar systems, became a Program Manager, but not much pay wise. Retired 28 years ago.
Yes and No. I've always been frugal because of my parents. The only thing I ever wanted but never got was a Mini Bike. When my mother needed help shopping I turned the tables and showed her how to do it. Mom, Yes Son, if you see something you like don't look at the cost. Just pick it up and put it in the cart like this. I made here laugh pretty good that day.
HS, BS, MS
Technical salaried positions in my field of study.
Champion 184
Mercury 175 EFI
BS in Biology and Chemistry, minor in music, M. Ed. in Admin/Supervision, lifetime cert. in all sciences. These helped me to get the job I have but not making the money that other professionals make and our retirement is just ok in the private school sector. But, I chose this career.
Barely got out of high school…started workin in a local plant part time at 16 (my daddy was upset at me for not wanting to go to college so he wouldn’t let me work in the family businesses) I went on to manage that exact plant and then Director for the company. Youngest and only non college grad to hold those higher positions in the companies history. Early retired at 45 and did consulting work for 2 years then opened my boat restoration (gel coat, upholstery, etc) business 8 years ago and goin strong. The good Lord has blessed me beyond belief !!

I went back to school at 34 and got my BBA, one of my greatest accomplishments in life honestly. I ran my own business for about 6 years then covid sent me back to corporate. Had I not got that business degree I would not have had the confidence and understanding of contract law which was very helpful when on my own and actually very important in my corporate job now too.
My sons 20 & 23 just went from working at a small diesel shop to Freightliner, likely will both make $100K this year. I am very proud of them as I never made that kind of money til in my mid 30s. Neither went to college and are not college material.

Graduated High school, and have an associate degree in Industrial Automation. I've been working in my field my whole career a year after college. When I was trying to decide what major I asked a professor about the program. He told me it was the "next big thing" and at some point there will be more job openings than qualified people to fill. For the first 10 years after college I thought the guy was full of it even though I had a couple decent jobs already. Needless to say the past 10 years I've seen my salary explode. I get calls, texts, and just see people in public asking me if I would want a job change. Some are local and some are in other states. My little associates degree has opened many doors for me, and has gave me a very nice living for me and my kids.
So to answer your questions.
Yes, I did graduate
Yes, It really has mattered
Graduated H.S., never went to college. Became a union plumber in Chicago at 19 years old. You needed a high school diploma to get into the union so the high school diploma was important.
My wife went to Purdue and got a bachelors in education. Later in life she got her Masters in Administration. She spent about 20 years as a teacher and now she has a job in administration.
I make about $30,000 more a year than my wife but she is off for 2 months during the summer.

Graduated high school in 1986!! Worked in the furniture industry for 25 years. I now drive for Averitt Express. Wish I would have done that 25 years ago. Getting ready to build a house soon.
I have an associates in cnc programming. I have only used it a little bit, it has helped me open doors for higher pay, I went lead to superviser and now I'm a production planner and I'm also back in school to get my bachelor's in business. I Believe it can help you get into higher positions. Trades pay well but some are tough work and can break your body down, having the degree can allow some office type work for later years
Graduated high school, went to work. Same company for 44 yrs. Along the way started dabbling in real estate. Sold my properties last year, wife and I retired at 62. Didn't matter to us.
This is some info on the subject, I think the higher the education the easier on the body over time along with higher wages. https://www.bls.gov/careeroutlook/20...ation-pays.htm
