Jack plate or new lower unit

I just accuired an evenrude ficht 225 from my cousin and it has a 25" lower unit. I have a Vindicator 200 with a 20" lower unit... The new motor runs great, but don't wanna run the 25" on my sprint 207 pro...
Soooo should I change out the lowers or get a jack plate? Any professional or experienced guidance will be greatly appreciated

Both, but a lower unit first.

    I am leaning toward a 10" manual jack plate, maybe a 6"

I have the 25" salt water Merc 225 on my Lund with the tall transom, I'm thinking the lower would have a longer drive shaft also. The Lund before this one was a Johnson 200 Ocean Runner for the same reason the tall transom for the bigger waters.

If you want it to perform correctly the best is
to do what we discussed in the johnson/rude
forum.use your vindicator mid and lower
and set the ficht powerhead on it.A new
powerhead gasket and 3hrs you are up
    and running.Check driveshaft and shift
shaft for interchange,I did the 25" on
a stratos for a buddy just to get him
    fishing,and that's all it will do,you will
not get peak handling and speed.
I did see your post about your 200
vindicator,I thought it was still good.
    I have 2 already with a bad hole.lol
