    Power pole wiring

I have installed poles on my boat. It is recommended to connect them to a cutoff switch. Can I not connect them to the main power cutoff switch for the boat or should I put them on a separate switch?
    Thanks.

you can use the main cut of switch if it has at least 70 to 80 amps fee left on the switch. If not then a separate switch is recommended we sell the switch and the 6 ga cable on our site in our K and K branded items
some like it on a separate switch so they can cut the power to them for transport but still leave the main switch on to run recirc pumps if bringing fish home.

I like the red on/off switch for Power Poles. See the link below. My last set up had and 80 amp switch breaker plus the individual 40 amp blade fuses on the PP wires. This time, I just put a switch on it plus the fuses and called it good. In my simple mind, it seems easier.
