Ultrex - Speed control knob tension

I noticed this weekend that my speed control knob is spinning very easily without much tension. Is there a way to tighten this back up so that it has a little resistance? I don't know if this is impacting the speed control or not. Anyone else experience this and have a fix? Thanks!

Is possible that the earring at holes? The speak control knob in position has slipped out. And that's giving you slack or lack of tensions on the nob. Go to Minn kot website and down load owners manual or use the one you have. Breakdown is there.
