won't Mark/Save waypoints

my helix 5 chirp gps g2 wont mark/save waypoints now, I had a bunch of waypoints saved that didn't mean anything to me anymore so I deleted them and now it wont save anything when I hit "Mark", It says "saved" but nothing/no icon shows up on my map, I restored "defaults" and everything seems to be functioning correctly.
any help would be appreciated

If you look in the list of waypoints in the unit do they list and not show up? There is a “hide” option for waypoints on the units I have had. None are Helix though.

no, nothing in the waypoint "file" area

Nav data would be the actual name on that screen. If nothing is there after marking waypoints, either review the manual or call Humminbird. I will put a link for the Helix manual as soon as I can find it. Bob

First thing to check is to make sure Demonstration is turned off.
Run the unit in Simulator.
Push the Mark button but do hold the button down.
You should get a waypoint in the waypoint library (Nav Menu) Waypoints, Routes, Tracks.

On my Helix`s I have to hold the button for a few seconds to actually save the way point as Wayne mentioned.

Holding down the button for two seconds takes a screen snapshot.
