    Manns Bait Company

When did manns go out of business? Pretty sad to see OG bait companies go under but if you don’t keep up with the others you kinda get left behind. Now just gotta find some of there 5 inch and 7inch dragon swim worm

Their website is up and running. Are you sure they’re out of business?

I have two packs of the hard nosed toads. Great concept that never seemed to take off.

News for me. Manns had the saving grace of obtaining the rights to the arig. I don't know how they could drop the ball from that but apparently they did. That alone could've reinvigorated the brand but was mismanaged.

I still have bulk bags that my dad would pick up from the store in Eufaula. I still love fishing a jelly worm during the summer. The little George is killer on schooling fish also!

I also am wondering if it will survive. I used to buy Luck E Strike worms in bulk at a bait store near Toledo Bend in the late 1970's. I think it was in Yellowpine.

That's probably one of the things that actually hurt them. Why pay for rights to a NAME, others continued making them and just called it an umbrella rig. Whatever they paid, they overpaid.

I have some hardnose toads too. I was very surprised they didn’t catch on with other companies. Lasts a lot longer than any Ribbit or horny toad

Got some hardnose toads, lizard and I think it’s a creature/craw. I also thought they would do better than they did.

I have won a bunch of tournaments with those hardnose creature baits many years ago.
I still have several packs. I thought it was a good concept. Now baits are soft either for a valid reason or just so they last for only several fish.
I seemed to have replaced them with the baby brush hogs now.

I just spoke with an insider who would know and it was confirmed that they are out of business. Apparently things have been going downhill for a long time, but around Christmas it got really bad. No word on what the future holds.

Caught my second 8 pounder on a Mann’s Auger tail 6” two-tone (blue/silver) plastic worm in 1984. Largest bass I had ever caught at the time on a plastic worm. Was my favorite plastic worm.

The original Mann’s Baby 1-Minus is probably my favorite crankbait. The newer models just don’t seem to run the same.
