    Ethically sourced shrimp

I'm on a diet and had a couple of garlic shrimp rice bowls for dinner tonight. 500 total calories. They weren't bad. Had to laugh though when I read on the package that the shrimp were "ethically sourced". I have no idea what that means.

I think it means the shrimp fisherman had to ask the shrimp if it was OK to catch and kill them

It has something to do with the pronouns of the shrimp and food insecurity.

Marketing departments prey on people's gullibility, stupidity and virtue signaling. Kind of like Huel using the words "eating clean" in all their adds. Damn- I hope a food supply company is "clean"- that is kind of an FDA requirement and not something that is worthy of bragging about. (I realize they are changing the "REAL" meaning of the word to something else-but that is my point.)

Your shrimp were farm raised. They were raised underneath chicken cages. Yup! Farmers feed the chickens and the chickens naturally feed the shrimp.

Calling them "Jumbo" is the same as fat shaming.

If they are of Asian origin, their ponds may be fertilized with human excrement. Recycling is ethical.
