    Triton 19 XS 225hp setup?

I recently took my new to me 2012 Triton 19XS with a 225 Pro XS Optimax out. 25p Fury prop fully trimmed up it would top out around 66 MPH at 5300 RPM. The boat has 2 8 foot power poles, 36v Ultrex, Garmin 93sv and 106 sv on the bow, 4 lead acid batteries and a 10" Z lock manual jack plate. That is with a full tank of fuel all my tackle and gear, full livewells and 200lb me in it. Prop to pad is about 3 7/8", water pressure 20-22 psi wide open and trimmed out. I am going to try a 25" pitch Tempest soon, but I was thinking I could raise the motor some and see if I can get anymore out of it with the Fury. Any other suggestions? It feels like it has more in it for sure, kept gaining speed until it hit the trim limit, doesn't throw a rooster tail either.

Yeah, I wish it came with a Tempest instead of a Fury but it is what it is. I doubt this Fury is going to run well with my setup, especially in warm weather with another person.

I own the 2013 version of this rig, although I don't run near the "baggage" as yours. Assuming your tach is correct, IMO, you need to be running closer to 5800-5900 RPM's. A 25 Tempest gets there for me. It's a good fishing boat. Good luck!

It's a Smartcraft tach so it is correct. I need another 600 RPM at least.

That is as fast as you will get fully loaded with a full tank of gas. Empty the livewells and run with a quarter tank of gas and you can touch 70, 72 at the tippy top.

I am pretty sure I can get better than 66 MPH out of it loaded, it's only turning 5300 RPM. If that's all it will do then I would have to take the Triton decals off and put Ranger ones on it.

It sounds like you may have a coil or plug down or possibly an injector.

All coils are good, has plenty of power and jumps up on plane quick, keeps gaining speed until it runs out of trim.

25 Tempest won’t change much. Try a 26 Tempest for more top end Fury has the best all around prop for me. 5300 rpm. You can get more out of it. Think 5800 is max Mines a 19’ Legend with a 225

If I am not turning enough RPM with a 25" pitch why go to a 26" pitch?

if you can only reach 5300 RPM, sure lugging that engine and not doing it any favors likely

Over propped or not set up properly if you can only spin 5300 RPM.

Tritons like a higher setting on the prop to pad. You are dealing with more weight on the bow than the boat originally had with a heavier trolling motor and an additional graph, even though it is light. The Ultrex adds 25lbs. right on the nose of the boat, which is not good as far as the performance your boat was designed for. I sometimes think a bigger jackplate is needed on some boats.

I have your exact boat but a 13. Mine has a 225 pro xs 2 stroke and TM lower. With a 24 Tempest + I was seeing 71. I too carry a heavy load, have an uxtex 112, two 9s up front, and a 16 and 12 at the console. Im 215 lbs. My boat was rearended snd I got a new lU and a new 24 tempest +. Now im getting 68 at 5800 and some change RPMs. It seems every tempest is different

I also run my motor high on my jp. These aboats seems to like a high engine.

Triton 19 XS Elite, 225 Mercury Pro XS, Minn Kota Ultrex 112, Hydrowave H2, Twin 8' Power Pole Blades, Power Pole CHARGE, Lowrance HDS 12 and 16 at console, Lowrance HDS 9, Garmin LiveScope at bow, Mercmonitor, Rigid Industries Deck lights and other stuff to come that will make me go more broke

I raised the motor up to 3" prop to pad and it topped out at 69 MPH at 5500 RPM. I feel like I need to raise it some more but I know Furys don't like to be ran too high.

I heard they dont like running hight. See if you can get your hands on either a 25 or 24 tempest +. I think my boat actually had a 25 when ran the fastest

I have been trying to find a Tempest, they aren't as easy to find used like they were a few years ago. Many of the new boats now for some reason are coming with Furys and a lot of people are wanting to switch to a Tempest.

See if you can get your hands on an older a45 Tempest that hasn't been banged or worked too much and have the best prop bender you can find get it perfect. I remember the older Tempest being faster (thinner blades maybe?) than the generation that came after. That said, there's a newer 19' Triton with a 225 Opti that my friend has fished against a lot. He also passes him a lot in his Champion with a 200 Opti
