Upper Potomac bass fishing Feb 2024

We went to 4 Locks yesterday Feb 7, 2024 on upper Potomac, and my buddy Tracy P caught a nice Smallmouth, 4lbs 9oz, on a swimbait.

Nice work! That is a great fish for the upper. Unfortunately it's a shell of what it used to be.

Here, my friends, is a demonstration of determination. I fished a local pond yesterday from the bank and I was amazed when I set the hook and got one hell of a fight. It turned out to ba a 4&1/2 pound largemouth.
Keep up the good work, and vary your presentation until you find a pattern that works.

The upper Potomac is defiantly getting better though, I predict all those 10-11 1/2-inch fish will grow at least a couple inches and 2024 is going to be a good year.
Catching a 4 1/2-pound smallmouth in 39-degree water was a treat.
