    Boat Loan in TODAYS world

How much are people borrowing now days? I see banks loaning 10-15 years for boats.. Idk, I feel like you live once and as long as you can make the monthly payment and still survive, I think borrowing is not a terrible idea IF you cant pay full 60k cash for a boat..

I went to a RV show over the weekend and noticed that many of the advertised monthly payments on the higher end campers and motorhomes were based on 240 months...that's 20 years! One of the really pricey RV's was for 280 months! And I thought the ten year terms on boat loans were ludicrous.

It's all personal choice. Nothing wrong with a loan if it works for your situation. Don't worry about what other people do.

20 year loan gets you the best rate, then pay it down much faster.

The payments for the first few years on that new sparkly boat that turns heads, might not seem too bad, but I'd hate the though making those last payments in 2044 on a 20 year raggedy old boat that looks like a POS.

20 seemed to be the norm looking at payments at last years salt water boat show.

This one is priced like a lot of bass boats.

You must be joking I bet 1 in 10 people don't do that. If you need to finance it for 20 years you dam sure don't have money to pay extra. A 20 year loan on a bass boat can you say upside down forever.

Can we sticky this thread at the top? 3 times a year I love to hear the opinions on this topic just to make me feel good about myself.

i was in a car dealer Dec 29th and they had the loan rates on the wall vs credit scores. it was so bad :( A car is essential and gets us to work.
