05 521 VX speed ?

I'm running fully tournament loaded 521 VX w/ 10 ft Talons
36 volt ultrex 4 graphs
225 Optimax 25 inch 3 blade tempest . 3.5 inches to pad
Turning 5800 WOT . 60-61 MPH . Have good hole shot.
Would like to get alittle more speed ? Does anyone have
any thought on prop or set up ? Thinking about going
to 250 hp ? But not sure if it is worth it ? Thanks

You’re underpowered for the 521vx I’ve had both one 2003 with a 225hp and an 04-05 with a 250hp. The 250 was better and ran 75gps and the 225 ran 71gps with a light load. Your load appears to be heavier with probably two graphs up front and the talons in the back. I’m thinking you still could probably get to 66-68 with the correct prop. Have you tried a Bravo 1xs or Fury 4? I’ll send you a pm.

5800 and 60-61 you have a lot of slip going on there. My 521VX with the pro xs 250 at 5800 I'm doing 74 with a 25 tempest.

You are getting the max of that boat with all the extras and a 225. Only way to improve speed is changing the motor.250 4 stroke will still only push it max of 71 or 72 on a good day.
