Never buy a Samsung or LG, nothing but issues and parts can be hard to get sometimes.

I have a 2 year old whirlpool that the ice maker has died on . It started with having to reset it like every 3 weeks for about 6 months to just quit.

We did have an LG and it was a piece of junk.
The more electronic gadgets the more potantial for failure. Just like a washing machine.

The older Kenmore and Whirlpools were built to last.

We are searching for a single door bottom freezer for our new house. From my research, I am looking at Whirlpool or GE, and will cross my fingers.

Will never ever have another side by side / french door style again. Ever time I'd go to get something I'd end up opening both doors.
That style also has more potential for door gasket leaks. Just looking at and owning one told me that right quick.

Good luck. It's a crap shoot these days with any "appliance".
Soon im giving away my bottom single drawer freezer fridge. I HATE IT. Everything in the freezer gets piled on top of crap and youre just constantly shuffling stuff around. Now this is the pullout style. I think they have them where they swing open which I could see working well.

Pass on the Samsung and it's a roll of the dice for everything else. Buy what you like.

I really like the bottom freezer and middle drawer on our Samsung, but I will never buy another one.

I believe they are all a crapshoot. We have an older LG which replaced an older Kenmore.
Neither of them had issues, Kenmore was about 18 yrs old. LG is about 10.

If you just want a basic unit… Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Maytag.
If you want to spend a little more for something more…. Bosch, Kitchen Aid, Thermador

We have a Samsung side by side with middle drawer and bottom freezer. The layout is awesome. It is over 5 years. However, the ice maker quit working about six months ago.

Do NOT buy an LG or a Samsung. I called two different repair techs and both independently advised me to cut my losses with the LG, save the tech service fee and buy a new fridge. They also both independently advised me not to buy a Samsung or LG.

I have a Subzero that is 30 yrs old. I’ve owned it for 20 of those yrs and the only thing I have had to do was door gaskets and a control panel. Total cost of around $300. If you can swing the initial expense, they are well worth it.
