    Diesel Gate 2.0...Cummins Busted

Cummins having to pay $1.6 BILLION fine for defeat devices to allow more power/torque by allowing more emissions. RAM is going to get screwed by this as they may have to do buybacks.

They'll pay it and move on. Not every gamble pays off. Cost of doing business . Expect to see some of that manifested in new truck pricing.

Harley Davidson got in the same trouble. They had to pay $12 million.

Now, if your bike shows evidence of a turner, your power train warranty is killed.

They are starting to go after aftermarket tuners, and delete kits.

I have skimmed through several articles and you tube videos. I still haven't figured out EXACTLY what has been found that makes these engines defeat emission standards or what ever.

Just gonna add up to more cost for the peasantry. They need to write a law that plugs all these new volcanos.

If the "corrected emissions" Cummins affects power and torque compared to the other 2 (GM and Ford diesels) then RAM is going to take a big hit in sales. RAM may even drop cummins after this. Ford and RAM dropped their 1/2 ton diesels because they could not get them to be reliable, and GM has the 3.0 that is getting great mileage. Makes you wonder how long it will be before the 3.0 baby Duramax is found to have been doing something that it should not and also takes the hit?

You Ram guys better hope they don’t issue a recall to reprogram your motors, what was once a power house, could be a slug. There will almost certainly be a recall.

That motor has bigger problems than this recall.

    Here is something interesting....

SHIPPING may seem like a clean form of transport. Carrying more than 90% of the world’s trade, ocean-going vessels produce just 3% of its greenhouse-gas emissions. But the industry is dirtier than that makes it sound. By burning heavy fuel oil, just 15 of the biggest ships emit more of the noxious oxides of nitrogen and sulphur than all the world’s cars put together. So it is no surprise that shipowners are being forced to clean up their act. But in an industry awash in overcapacity and debt, few have access to the finance they need to improve their vessels.

Hopefully this is just my tin foil hat talking but I get the feeling the gooberment is forcing manufacturers to make engines unreliable on purpose as part of the marginally better gas mileage tweaking. That way people will get sick of their gas and oil burners being a turd and go electric.
