Our finacial guy suggested we get into this fund FXAIX. Can anyone give me the good/ bad scoop on it? Sorry title should be FXAIX.

I have it in my 401k, but I wouldn't invest in it now if I were just looking for somewhere to put money right now. It's just Fidelity's sp500 index fund, so should have low expenses and generally follow the market...

For a long term play it should be a good move. You might wait for a bit of a down turn in the market from this run its on before putting money in it to lower your basis but if your outlook is multiple years (or even decades) then it really doesn't matter.

As Warren Buffet stated, most investors can’t beat the S&P 500, and would be better off just getting an S&P 500 index ETF. That’s all this is and I say it’s solid advice.

Purchased a small position in May 2021, total growth 13.72% on core investment, 18% investing all dividends. Just my experience FWIW

It's a good one. There are cheaper ones to be had...fee wise. But can't go wrong with and S&P 500 fund.
