Outside of Cleveland and Cincinnati sneaking in at 1-2, everybody else fell in close to where they should be. It always seemed to me that the baseball draft was a crapshoot anyway. The top picks aren't nearly as important as they are in football and basketball.

Got to agree with Jim about the draft in baseball being way more unpredictable than Football or Basketball. Of course any draft has its unpredictable possibilities but baseball seems the most hit or miss.
    Red Sox in 6!

Nah I agree it just is super sketch with the percentages those two had to both move up like that.

That is how lotteries work. If everyone fell into place, that would be super sketch.

    Ohio killed it!

At least we would get one good year before the tanking begins.

Having a draft lottery to prevent teams from "tanking" in baseball is stupid. Players are incented to rack up good stats, no manager is going to tell his team he wants them to strike out when they are batting or throw gopher balls when they are pitching.

If you assemble enough players that are more apt to strikeout and throw gopher balls while pitching you are tanking. My high school team couldve gone 0-162 in a mlb season without any of us tanking as individuals. We just werent good

That's exactly what the A's have done the last couple of seasons.

A's were on fire sale mode prior to moving.

Soto signed with the Yanks. At least Ohtani won't be going there. Padres are an example of a team that "tanked" by loading up on high priced free agents.

And they are stuck with Bogaerts contract at $25 million per year through 2023. I like Xander, but they way over paid for him.
