You’ll need a pair of calipers.

    1. Ring Size: If the ring insert is still in the guide, measure the outside diameter of the ring insert in MM

OR 1B. If the ring is missing, measure the second guide from the tip and either match that diameter or you can go up 0.5mm in size.

    2. Tube Size: measure the rod tip in 64ths of an inch to get the tube size, (mm is much easier to measure when it’s that small and convert after, mudhole actually shows the mm equivalent)

Contact the manufacturer if the rod. They may give you the size needed or send you one for free

You're not measuring the OD of the tube, you're measuring the OD of the blank's tip. Scrape the finish off so you can measure the actual blank. Once you scrape the tip off, heat the tip top lightly with a lighter and see they used the type of hot melt glue to hold the tip top on. Some manufacturers actually use epoxy, so heating it lightly isn't going to work. Don't try heating an epoxied on tip with more heat. All you'll end up doing is damaging the blank.

Got a box of drill bits? They came in 64th of an inch, which one fits in the tip top tube? If it's between sizes it's a half size. Easy Peazy.

Can always buy a kit that comes with a couple different sizes.
