    Won't charge.

My buddy bought 2 50 ah lithium batteries and has a MinnKota 2 battery charger. MinnKota says it'll work with lithiums but it's not. He received the batteries @ 12.3 v and they haven't charged any more. He bought a 5 amp lithium charger to see if that would wake them but it hasn't. Please help.

do not recommend the use a Minn Kota digital on any lithium battery , but the 12.3 volts has nothing to do with that charger, any charger should bring it up above 12.3v
I would suggest putting the battery under a load for a while and then try charging again

A resting voltage of 12.3 on a new lithium battery seems abnormal.

12.3 v on a Lithium is dead! Or close to it at about 10% charge...

In order to charge you must have a difference of potential. You only have 1 volt difference. Spread out over dozens of cells it ain't enough IMHO. Perhaps your charger is sensing an overload, a Lithium cell will take all the amps it can get. My Lithium charger hits 14.5+ volts the minute I turn it on.
I think you have a charger issue, maybe the original charger shut the batteries down.

Is the charger communicating anything? Flashing light? Are there fuses missing between the charger and battery?

What would help is, for each battery:
    Battery voltage sitting disconnected?
Battery voltage with a load on it such as a light bulb?
Did the light bulb light up?
Battery voltage with charger connected but not powered up?
Battery voltage when charger first turned on?
Battery voltage after charger on for 5 minutes?

He ran one down to 12.3v and it charged to 13.4. We guess that one's good and haven't checked the other. Thanks everyone for the help.

I should be pulling out a min kota precision 460 today. It will charge lithiums. It has one bad bank, but has 3 good ones. I'll sell it to him cheap if he wants it. I'm in Canton.
