Terrova won’t turn

If I don’t use the TM for a while it won’t turn. Eventually it will start working if I keep turning it off and on.
This was brand new unit that sat for about 3 years without being used.
Has anyone had issues like this?
I know I will have to troubleshoot it at home when it quits to verify turn motor is getting power.

What are you using to operate the troll motor? If it is a remote try a foot pedal and vise versa. If it does it with both replace the steering assembly. If it does it with one but not the other replace the defective item.
If you do not replace the steering assembly and it goes completely out then it may take the control board with it also.

Thanks for the info. I don’t have a foot pedal only the remote.
Can I try it with the app and if it works with that then it’s probably a bad remote?

Absolutely. It’s the process of elimination. Give it a try. Also, with power off, can you turn it easy without feeling any resistance or rough spots? Have you taken the prop off to see if you have line or weeds behind it?

It’s not the prop having issue it’s the steering

Make sure the software is up to date also
