He’s had a pretty good career for the crap shoot that is “professional” fishing. Wish him all the best in future endeavors.

Just saw that. I’ve always been a fan of his. I’ve noticed that he hasn’t been as active lately on his social media.

So who gets back in the Elites next year and with him stepping away?

Good to see him putting family first. Wonder if they will get Bobby Lane in or move the cut line down. Bet the phones at Bass are ringing.

It has been made clear by BASS recently and in the past few years that they do not work down the opens list.

It will be the next person cut from the elites.

I bet the spot will go to an angler that was on the 2023 roster instead.

Would be awesome to see Bobby Lane get back in next year though.

As a huge (former) Falcon rod junkie, he was one of my favorites. I wish him the best in whatever path he follows.

Didn't Bassmaster just do a profile on him a month or two ago?

Good for him. He seemed absolutely miserable during the elites season this year, glad to see he’s doing what’s right for him and his family.

yes he did, this is no surprise to me. He’s sounded like he’s hated fishing for awhile now.

He needs to jump on BTL full time, because Matt sucks without him. It would be a much more enjoyable show to listen too, with Hallman and Panger.

Smart man to get out. Was not making any money in tournament winnings.

Good for him. I don’t understand how the guys on tour with young families can do it. If I was competing at that level I would want to be 100% in and on the road all the time.

Last year was rougher on him than I thought.
