    Mushroom anchor idea

When I'm fishing from my small 10' v bottom, I go light - including anchor. A 10# mushroom anchor doesn't cut it when the wind is over 15 mph and I figured out a way to keep the anchor in place for wind less than 20 mph.

The anchor I own has a few holes for mud drainage so I put a plastic tent spike through one of them and zipped tied it to the anchor shaft. For now, the spike is 4" below the bottom and helps big time! I can lower it if needed. No more having to haul in a 15# anchor at my age. I can post a photo if needed.

I have found the best use of the mushroom anchor is to let out enough line so you can "tip" the anchor over and use the scooping effect to do the stopping.
