He made the right call to get on the winning spot but I wouldn't have done that.

Treat others like you want to be treated when on the water EVEN WHEN IN A TOURNAMENT! No fish is worth having a confrontation because you cut someone off or came in on top of someone.
I'm old enough to remember when he did that.
And he did it without forward facing sonar. Man, I didn't think that anyone could catch fish without it.
strange that i just watched that 2 seconds ago
What's strange is the angled transom corners on that Ranger they show him going under the bridge in.
Hang on. I'll help you in 77 minutes.
and had the best Trolling motor made on that boat........
.....so I'm curious why OP thinks "auta go 20" when this happened - what 34 years ago?? I gotta believe that even Randy triggers have an expiration date.

I take dibs on Randy noticing this posted here and deciding to put a video up about the stroke of genius. You need a lot of ideas when you are uploading 2 videos a day.
He pulled the plug to get under that? He had all kinds of room and the hull looked like it was floating like my old 350V!

We had a guy in our club that used to pull the plug in his tracker to get under a bridge. He prefished the tournament to make sure the fish were bedding before doing it. One year when he was prefishing he sank the boat and dropped the plug or couldnt get it back in. I dont remember the exact detail. I do remember he was ticketed when he was stuck on the wrong side of the bridge too long to get out of the park before it was closed.
I fished with him that year during the tournament. The fish never showed up on beds. Around 11:30 neither of us had a bite. Another member also prefished and I recalled at the club meeting him saying he caught some good fish off the old dam on crankbaits. I had a storm wiggle wart set up and I made 3 consecutive casts at the old dam when we got to it. First cast I boated my PB largemouth. Second cast I caught a 3.5. Third cast I caught a scratcher that we released. The only bites in the boat that day. My PB looked like a carp it was so big. I won the tournament( my first club win) and also had lunker. It weighed in at 6 lbs 5 ounces on the old spring scale the club used. No way. The club bought a new digital scale for the next tournament.
Would this be considered a Game Changer?
