Smells like my dog ate a skunk when he farts

Past day one of my dogs has been stinking up the house with farts that smells like a skunk. He threw up yesterday but seems fine otherwise. Hope he passes the rotten demon soon. Maybe he ate a dead bird or something. This one usually isn't gassy either. It's the other one that's usually responsible for the occasional silent killer.

Mine had exactly the same symptoms except for smell, a day after the trip to the vet he called wanting to now if she had eaten anything, Search of the yard revealed a rabbit skin, She got meds just in time...parasite from the rabit almost did her in!

Every dog has these issues occasionally. Easier to blame your hit and run or SBD's on the pup then.

Feed him some canned pumpkin. A couple of spoonfuls with his food. It will settle his stomach and grease the bypass mechanism. Dead birds, squirrel carcasses, other dogs waste (because they eat table scraps with red meat in them). Just watch for runny or bloody stools. Vet time if that’s the case. Hope he feels better soon. I can’t imagine life without a dog.

Pete seems fine and no longer knocking maggots off the manure wagon

Funny story about blaming a fart on the dog...about 15ish years ago I was at a friend's house. I was sitting on the carpet (probably playing with their min pin) and ripped a big greasy fart. I blamed it on the dog when everyone started gagging. A couple minutes later my friend's wife says "I think Chris farted and blamed it on the dog because Star is licking the carpet where Chris was just sitting". The dog threw me under the bus and backed over me several timesIt's OK, she was still my little buddy after that when I was over there.

Occasionally our dogs have some rather unbelievable smells easing out but a good food reduces this. It’s also 120$ a bag. Clothes pins are cheaper alternative!

Thank you. She’s is absolutely the most energetic, fun loving dog I’ve ever had. She keeps us in shape for sure.

My sister has a very hyper Vizsla that is quick to grab a roadkill mouse or a nesting bird from the shrubs. After having its stomach pumped a couple times her vet recommended giving it hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting. Works every time if she gets to it quick enough before it causes a blockage. There is plenty of confirmation on the internet from other Verinarians..
