I was lucky enough to have a rancher friend who has private property that is part of an area currently that is part of an elk depredation hunt in NE AZ where the game and fish dept doesn’t want residence elk herds. The hunt we had is a 1% success rate but we ended up 5/5 with the opportunity to help a friend who has never killed an elk get a 320 bull and then a grandson and granddaughter able to kill some cow elk, all of which the rancher was grateful for.
It beat the heck out of sitting on the couch waiting for it to cool off enough to go fishing and anytime with friends and family, especially grandkids is a great way to enjoy the outdoors!
