Should I be using pressure treated for new bunks for a 17.5 foot tracker boat? Will the chemicals in the pressure treated wood have a reaction with the aluminum?

The copper in ACQ and QA treated lumber is corrosive to aluminum. Put a membrane (like ice & water shield) over the lumber surface/under the carpet to eliminate that.
Thank you. I was leaning towards doing that.
Based on a video I came across I coated plain pine boards with fiberglass resin to seal them. It leaves a polyurethane like finish that hopefully will protect the bunks.
For a "tin" boat PT boards with carpet is probably bad. I use PT under my fiberglass Stratos with carpet. I put some Gatorback over the last 5 feet and I like the way it works and looks.
Today’s PT material is very brittle. I wouldn’t
In addition to being corrosive to aluminum pressure treated lumber isn't as durable as it was in the past. When I need to replace my bunks I'm going with some kind of composite material like Ultimate Bunk Boards.
Do gatorbak cost little more but worth it.

The treated lumber will corrode the staples used to hold the carpet. Small Stainless steel screws if using treated.
