Was wondering what you guys think of this? My BIL has an 07 90ELPTO and when running at higher RPM like 5,400 gets the high temp alarm. Seems to be fine putting around at 2-4,000.

Forgot to mention it has a new impeller. Was thinking maybe thermostat?
any idea of water psi at 5400 , would examine poppet assembly first

I asked him that as well and his boat does not have a seperate pressure gauge. What function does the poppet perform? Allow coolant through the head?
