Best bass lake suggestions within a few hours drive
Looking for my next little adventure as I live in this new life of retirement. Figuring a bass trip at a more productive water than my local waters. I can drive six minutes down the road to a 500 acre lake and can't dinks all day.
I'll bring my boat, rent a cabin. Just as soon not move around to different lakes, thinking just sit down somewhere for a few days. First day with a guide and then carry-on.
I'm in NW Arkansas. Don't know squat about lakes east/north/west of me. I have some limited experience in east Texas, so Fork, Rayburn, Toledo, etc come into play I guess.
The criteria - Lake with good chance of catching more over 2+ lbs than not. Close enough to surrounding cities I don't get bored back at the cabin. I don't fish all day like some of you here, so by 11:00 I'm looking for lunch and something to see/do.

Look at Lake Murray State Park in Oklahoma. They have floating cabins as well as normal cabins that you can rent. Now, finding a weekend that a cabin is open can take a little work. Smallmouth and largemouth both, but it is a small lake at 5,700 acres. New restaurant on the lake that I have not tried yet, but it is there.
