    Crestliner Motor question

I have an Aluminum Crestliner TC17. It is pretty much like a Bass Tracker 17.5 feet bass boat. I'm looking to repower to a 115 Pro XS. My question is do I need the standard gear or the command thrust? The boat is about 1100 pounds, normal use, fishing and duck hunting. Most of the time just 2 people in the boat? Would I benefit from any size hydraulic jack plate? Any help is appreciated.

I may be mistaken but I dont think that hull is rated for any where near that size motor. But if that dont bother you I say go for it. Gear case wont make much difference other than different props being required. Have not tried a jackplate on my boat, Crestliner VT17, but have heard from others that it did not make a big difference on theirs. It may help you though to get shallower for duck hunting. It may also help with the bigger motor, mine is only a 75 with a tuned ecu. Good luck.
