    Pew!! Geez Louise Ontario!

Pass out some more water buckets and put those fires out! You're stinking up the neighborhood down here with smoke!

    Weather Alerts-Horseheads, NY

Issued By Binghamton - NY, US, National Weather Service

    Affected Area - Chemung County

Description ...AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT...

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation at Albany has issued a Air Quality Health Advisory for Fine Particulates.. until midnight EDT tonight.

Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an air quality index value of 100 for fine particulates. The air quality index or AQI, was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value, the greater the health concern.

When pollution levels are elevated, the New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young and those with pre existing respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician.

8-900 miles away and that isn't haze out side!

No one can be wrong that often so it has to be deliberate.

It looks like the movie Mad Max around here lately.
No measurable rain in a month, the ground is scorched with leaves falling off of the trees, then add in the smoke from the fires.

The air here (Utica area) has had a yellowish tint all day. I walked out during my lunch and it smells like an old campfire, after a few min you can feel the smoke in your lungs and throat.

You can see it here in most of Ky, makes for some nice sunsets down on Cumberland lake.

Crazy hazy here looking out my office window in Elmira, NY.

Can even smell the fire in the air. Strong NW winds for three days in a row has helped push everything directly over top of us.

LOL Mark Davis just commented on the smell of smoke in the air and referenced these fires

And commentators are saying the overcast conditions are not from clouds

Was in Glacier NP a few weeks ago and it was bad there. We went up to Calgary and it was even worse. We could smell it in our hotel room our last day there.

Yep, same here in NW Ohio. Funny thing is I can’t smell it outside but I smell it a little in the house.

Hazy here too from the smoke. That along with the pollen and snow from the cottonwood trees, sucks to be outside for a long period of time.

This particular smoke is actually mainly from northern Quebec, not Ontario. We had a bunch a few weeks ago all the way from the Alberta wildfires, but it seemed to stay high in the atmosphere so you couldn’t really smell it like this stuff that’s closer to home.

Unless we have some local wild fires happening, I think it just rolled in here in Schuylkill County PA. I can't imagine what it's like up there in Canada, when I'm about 325 miles away..hope it rains soon!
