PGA-LIV Merger

Have not been a fan of LIV golf from the start. I’m guessing Monahan just got “Greg Norman money” to approve the merger. I have been a huge PGA fan for years, but I guess the PGA is on the same level as Bud Light for me. I’m done with them.

If BASS and MLF merged, someone else would come out with a new trail and feature the sport yet again. It has happened too many times in history, probably due to the relatively low start up costs (compared to golf/NFL/etc.)

First there was BASS. Then FLW came along. Then MLF and NPFL.

The real issue is too many guys with money who want to act like a pro. It's easy for any start up league to fill a field of less than stellar anglers who want to act pro. FLW was just like that when it launched.

IMO...This is a bad deal for most LIV players, bottom 2/3. Their slush fund is now being used to fund Newco, with JM as commissioner. Their security blanket, Greg Norman, is out. There will be a world tour, they may not qualify for, and Rory, Rham, Scottie, etc. will start eating at their pie.

Regardless, with the PIF investing BILLIONS (the PIF Gov. words), the best players are getting even more money.

Some are butt hurt today, but that feeling will soon go away. Competitors merge everyday.

In my opinion - Selective Outrage at it's best. Not thrilled about it myself but as in everything else Money is the main deciding factor and nothing else!
