    Seastar hyd steering grounding strap?

Do most of you have this strap from one side of your steering arm to the outboard? The seastar installation guide for it says for “saltwater” applications to prevent stray current. My boat has it installed, was wondering if you guys with later model rigs also have it installed. I know it doesn’t harm anything…just wondering if I really need it. Thanks.

I'm sure it has to do with electrolysis and perhaps not needed but I installed mine on when I put my system in and I also have zincs on the outboard. Won't hurt to have it on.

Thanks again…I re-secured where it pulled out of the outboard clip. Just ran the cable under the bolt head.
