Converting from lead acid to lithium

Does this topic have it's own thread ? Has there been a comparison on the Lithium options ? And when converting, is that a DYI or a dealer ?

Remove the nuts on your old battery terminals, then disconnect the positive and negative cables, remove the hold down strap that holds your battery in place then simply lift it out of the boat.
Reverse this process with your new lithiums, you're welcome.

It is that easy, nothing to it.

Look in the electrical/trolling section there are about 1000 posts on lithium batteries from suggestions to install etc.

I went with the 24V kit from Impulse Lithium last August and have been extremely happy with the setup! It came with a 12V 105 ah cranking battery and a 24V 60 ah trolling motor battery, a single bank ac charger and the Impulse charge-on-the-run converter. I've yet to have a day on the water were either battery got below 60% and have run two days without charging. Also, charging takes about 3-4 hours total. Awesome setup for me!

There was a little more to my install than what's mentioned above, but nothing that required taking the boat to the dealer.

You will most likely have to invest in a lithium charger unless your existing charger has a mode for lithiums.

Just installed my Ionic 125 from Drewcraft last month. Order was easy, delivery was quick. Easy plug and play install if your charger can be set to AGM.

Are you guys putting the battery directly in the battery tray? I have the aluminum trays. Someone mentioned having a pad for the lithiums. Is this required?

Is this important or a requirement for lithium?
