I read this article from the Clarion-Ledger this morning about Crappie Forever setting up a contest for catch and release of crappie in Mississippi. Pretty much you have to take and send measurements, send the tag number, and send a video of you releasing the fish to the number on the tag. Fish releases are worth cash or prizes. Several Mississippi lakes that already have tagged fish are Arkabutla, Enid, Grenada, Ross Barnett Reservoir, and Sardis; others, including Eagle Lake and Lake Washington are to come.

Note: I'm not affiliated with Crappie Forever; I just think that this is a good learning opportunity for the kids and me.
