MDI TM adapter difference Helix 7 and larger units

Is there a visible difference other than the tag?

Trying to help a non-technical friend long distance. His bow Helix 9 won’t display DI. Dealer installed it in a flush mount on a newly purchased used boat. Boat came with a 7 when new, and my guess is the dealer neglected to swap the adapter cable. Dealer is claiming setup is fine and there is a problem with his Ultrex built-in DI transducer. Cable is pretty well buried and jacketed and the friend is squeamish about digging in. I’d like to help him verify the adapter is wrong or right before he talks to the dealer again.

The Minnkota built-in MEGA Imaging transducer adapters for a Helix 7 is different than for all the larger units.

For the Helix 7 it has to be the MKR-MDI-2.
For larger units it has to be the MKR-MI-1.

This is the reference to the proper connections and compatibilities:

The MKR-MI-1 has 7 pins in the plug.
Don't know what the MDI-2 has but only needs 4.

To follow up, there is a very minor difference other than the tag.

Pins in both connectors are identical. The MDI-2 cable is just a little less than 1/4” diameter. The MI-1 is a little larger than 1/4”.

Other than tags and cable diameter they look the same.

Dealer was finally convinced after he was emailed info I forwarded.
