A week or so ago my starboard leaf spring broke while returning from a fishing trip, . My boat is a Tracker PT 185 total weight of about 2500 lbs. The trailer has 1750# springs but the only one I could find was a 2500# version. That was the third spring to break on that side of the trailer, but I believe I has discovered the cause of that situation. Anyway, what I want I’d know is, do I replace the 2500# with a 1750#, or do in replace the other side’s 1750# with a 2500# one. My son who is a race car engineer said the replace the 1750 one since the 80 series tires do most of the shock absorbing anyway. I’m not so sure? What do you all think?
