1995 mariner 200 super mag SN. G111264- Prop Thrust washer

Shouldn't the prop thrust washer sit flush against the bearing carrier? Motor has a Fury prop on it and current thrust washer sits approx 1/2" or so from the carrier. When I look up the parts list it shows several different options for part numbers. Prop Shaft has probably 1/8" to 3/16" play in and curious if this is why ? Thoughts anyone ? Thanks

the washer does not fit against carrier , end play is normal
