    2001 XR6 150 - fab water inlet plates

Good morning. First of all I looked (and looked, and looked) for this but could not find it, so apologies if I missed it.

I have a 2001 XR6 150 that runs great. I want to add water inlet plates however I am fully capable of fabricating my own. But I cannot find a good image of what the Mercury plates look like INSTALLED (not just the kit) so I can see the basic design.

Does anyone have images from a few angles of what these plates look like when installed? Do they use the existing water inlet holes for attachment of the plates (screws) or are new holes drilled in the lower unit? The plates act like ram scoops so they are open on the front side, but are they open at all at the rear edge or closed up against the side of the lower?

Before anyone asks I am about to install a jack plate and want to have these plates in place to hedge against possible low water pressure issues when the motor is raised.

    Thanks in advance.

You might want to post in the 2.5L forum, might get more replies.
