    Batteries and prices

    2b116638 250 pro xs

Need to upgrade to the right starting battery. I’ve read the chargers on rangers might have a problem with Agm batteries. Would a flooded cell be a better choice. What is the pros and cons. One more question. What battery would you recommend for the best bang for the buck

What do you have now? The napa or batteries plus (deka)commercial battery will work, but if you run a lot of electronics and livewells all day and spend more time fishing than running, the battery won't hold up very well

950 CCA minimum and 180 minutes reserve
1000 MCA equates to 800 CCA, an absolute bare minimum for that motor, nothing left for electronics.

My opinion, ever starts, Walmart. I run 125ah Ionics lithium. expected life span for my use about 12 years, maybe more, $750.
    Everstarts 2-3 years times 4 $600 plus.
Never run out of power with the Ionics, the everstart would not hold up for a full day with my setup
If running large screen graphs and or 3 or four of them go Lithium, X2 or Odessey
    Thank You Leon Pugh

I was looking up Odyssey and NorthStar batteries last night and saw that EnerSys, the manufacturer of Odyssey batteries, has expanded its brand portfolio to include products formerly sold under the NorthStar brand.

    https://www.odysseybattery.com/blog/...attery%20brand.

Edit:Looks like this is old news, just news to me. Reference to NorthStar batteries shows an Odyssey equivalent.

Good idea to check the list that's posted in the FAQ section. Many batteries already researched and compared there in the first post of that thread.
