    rod for big crankers

Looking for a good crankbait rod to throw medium to deep diving crankbaits (up to 1 1/2oz)...the big 6th sense and Strike King 8XD and 10XD's...would prefer a parabolic action as opposed to a "broom stick rod"

I always hear the Orochi Megabass XX Launcher brought up from a big array of different people as the go to deep crank rod.

Alpha Angler Mag Rebound is super nice for what you’re wanting to do, St Croix Victory line has some long deep crank rods as well, I’d certainly consider the Mage Rebound to be more parabolic, I own both.

Depends what you want to spend. Honestly, I have an iRod Genesis Crank Launcher (7' 11" MH-Moderate rated up to 1-1/2oz but I've thrown 2+oz on it no problem) for the price is pretty good. It's not completely parabolic, but it's not a broomstick. I can throw a 2.5 squarebill or 5XD great on it.

St.Croix has some awesome offerings in the Victory and LTB series both aren’t broomsticks at the heavy or extra heavy very moderate rods there 7’11 Glass rod is great also for 8xd to a 5xd i wouldn’t personally throw a 10XD on the glass rod, but the extra heavy in both series would be perfect for it. When you get into the Zboss 25 10XD and the C25 your into a different animal then with those baits

ALX Rods ZOLO PowerBolt or IKOS Thunder. Both are great rods for deep diver cranks like the 10XD. Loads up deep, all carbon construction.

I feel like your “medium to deep” is really deep/extra deep…regarding the Dobyns, the 805 CB is great for those 3/4 oz to 1oz. 6 XDs, DD 22, 6th sense c-15/300 DD type baits. All the baits you named are big/extra deep baits. As stated, the 806CB is the deal for 8XD, 10XD, 500DD, c-20 type baits. These baits are 1.4-1.9 oz and really need a dedicated rod, above and beyond a typical medium-deep CB rod.

Check out savage gear rods. I got one and handles my big Muskie lures and is not a broom stick.

ditto. only downside is it is 8' and won't fit in rod locker.

Absolutely. The Megabass Orochi XX Launcher is a top notch deep crank rod. I don't like it for a 10XD, but the Deep Six, 6XD, even up to the 8XD, it is so very good!
