    CD Player For Pontoon

Not sure where I ask this question but here goes. I'm looking for an inexpensive ($150 or under) cd player for our pontoon. Since I'm an old poot I would like it to be as generic and basic for my feeble mind to operate. Don't need a bunch of buttons. Which brands to I need to stay away from?

    Thanks for any input!

I recommend using a music app on your phone or other digital device and link to portable bluetooth speakers. CD's are becoming a thing of the past.

As long as I have my Marshall Tucker, Allman Brothers, Buffet and Motown cd's I will be rocking down the lake with my cd's. As I stated earlier, I'm an old fart.

Wouldn't a CD skip when the boat was rocking or hitting waves when running?

No. they had buffers in them.

I'd get an AM-FM Bluetooth aux-in CD stereo & splash cover kit made by the same company, so you know they should fit together. Plus one of those short marine rubber AM-FM antennas.

My early 90s Sitex TS-90 marine AM-FM cassette stereo / rubber antenna still works perfect, time on display needs corrected. LCD display: tape mode (green), radio mode (orange). https://books.google.com/books?id=qw...stereo&f=false

I won't recommend Boss, as I had a new stereo installed last year and the display is already out. I would look at a more quality name in your price range.

I have the Kenwood KMR-D382BT in both boats and had on previous bikes too. Excellent radio but a bit over your $150. If you want cheaper Pyle and several other off brands, but don't know quality of those.

I with the op I have many custom cd's. My boat is a 2013 and has never "skipped" a Cd. It's a older Sony not sure of the model #. But has been a great system. I'm old school myself. I'm ok with new school, and can customize music. But.... I still like being the older guy and like cd's as well. Heck I still have some handed down plastic that I use. Really it is up to the OP. I say stay with a good name brand and roll with your liking.

Apparently, Crutchfield still has a few marine CD players. Personally, I'd either copy songs to a thumb drive or bluetooth stream from my phone because I prefer to have fewer potential openings to possibly get water into the receiver.

No, it does not play CD's, so it wouldn't be a good choice for the OP. However, at it's price point, it's perfect for me! I burned my CD's into my computer quite some time ago and have them in iTunes as well, so pretty mobile with the tunes now...

It’s hard to find a good CD setup today. We would try and find a SONY 910 (910 CDX we believe) setup on EBay or a close out. They’ve been discontinued for a flew years, though it’s the best radio and CD setup we ever offered.
