Question Any appliance experts on here

I have a 6 year old refrigerator with a top freezer that is giving me problems. The freezer part is working fine but the bottom part is not cooling. So far all I have done is remover the back panel and vacuumed the coils with no positive results. Any hints on what to do next?

If the top freezer is working and fridge is not. Most cases it is a air circulation issue. It pulls the air from the freezer.

It has a fan that transfers refrigerated air to fridge. Freezer is only thing operated by compressor

Have you actually looked at the freezer coils? If they are iced over, use a hairdryer to melt the ice. ABSOLUTELY do NOT use any type of tool on them (including your fingers). Be sure the fan in the freezer is running and moving air when the compressor is running. Post your findings .

Happened to me years ago. For some reason I had to replace the fan blade and after that it cooled a lot better. Turns out, the fan blade from the factory was slipping on the shaft.

Thanks I found what was wrong. The connector to the fan had the positive input wire and negative output wire fried. Now I have to find out what caused that before I replace the fan. Anyone have any clue what caused it to happen?

Seized fan motor would be most likely.

Our garage fridge took a crap and everything got warm. The issue was it somehow blew out the strip it was plugged into and when the fridge was plugged in a straight/direct connection it was back to running properly..

Most of the time with this scenario is no air flow. Which can be a bad motor, bad motor electrical connection, (coil frozen) because said motor, defrost heating element, termination sensor (thermostat), defrost control or sensor, and last the condensate drain stopped up. The defrost heater will not keep up the the drain is frozen, just keeps getting worse.

Don't plug appliances into power strips.
