    Minn Kota - sucks

I’ve never been more let down or disappointed in a product/ company/ line of trolling motors as I have with Minn Kota

    they are pretty much garage.

Brand new boat back in Feb 2023. Terranova lasted until June till the spring assist broke and it looked like a slinky blew up on it.

then by July the Motor won’t retract and stow

    so the shop she goes

get back worked once now broke again

    remote is full of rust

don’t even get me started on the Ulterra on my old boat.

please please don’t buy these products

Remote full of rust doesn't sound like a Minn Kota problem, but more of a storage problem. I'd say you are in the minority on this one. Now I will say, I don't think the Terrova's are as good as say the Ultrex. Was it repaired by an authorized shop?

Sounds like you really had a run of back to back bad luck. Sorry to hear. I hope your grass is greener on the other side.

I love my Minn Kota Ulterra Quest, but I'm sure that doesn't make you feel any better about your situation.

Sorry to hear about your poor experience. The internet is a great place to complain, but, those with positive experiences don’t post. MK likely outsells most other brands and generally thought to be a good product. I would expect their sales to failure ratio to be quite low. Personally, I would only own MK, and when needed occasionally, I have a fabulous service centre. Got to love it when somebody who never posts in this forum jumps in and claims that MK sucks and is garbage. A lot of people would disagree with you. Good luck with your new troller. Hope it treats you better than your “Terranova” .

    It's a "Terranova" and it's "garage"

My Ultrex has had the crap used out of it for over 5 years and on its second boat now. Been a soldier this whole time. As much as I want the new PP motor it will be hard to not stick with MK and go with the new Quest when my Ultrex decides it's had enough of my crap. It's seen (and hit) some stuff that's for sure. I personally wouldn't own a Terrova and damn sure wouldn't own a "Terranova", lol.
